RENTER'S CONCERNS ABOUT AMC...
the Better Business Bureau gave AMC, LLC an "F"
While the business practices of AMC, LLC, may be similar to some other property management companies, the fact remains that many tenants (myself included) have been unpleasantly surprised by the steep fees and penalties included in an AMC lease agreement. A number of other concerns which tend to be common among AMC renters include: increased rent prices, vague utility bills, delayed maintenance, unkept common areas, lack of communication to tenants, disproportionately high fines, unprofessional (sometimes dishonest) office staff, and the lack of safety and security provided to tenants.
This is not to say that every AMC property will have these problems or issues. There may be many satisfied tenants out there who haven't felt the need to get online and post reviews, therefore leaving AMC with a disproportionately negative online image. Nevertheless, the common issues that have been brought up by AMC residents seem widespread enough to be woth looking into. And I can say from personaly experience that I can relate strongly to many of the concerns being expressed by other AMC renters.
For my own personal research, I compiled a list of all of AMC's properties and linked them (when possible) to reviews written by tenants on the ApartmentRatings.com web site. I decided to make this list public so that current and prospective renters can read what others are saying about their experiences renting from AMC.

What is AMC, LLC?
AMC stands for Apartment Management Consultants, and it's a property management company with a headquarters in Midvale, Utah. AMC was established in 2000 by David and Howard Schmidt, and since then has grown into not only the biggrest property management company in Utah, but also one of the largest property management companies in the nation, with well over 250 properties under it's supervision. AMC manages everything from modest apartment communities with a couple hundred residents to huge multi-community complexes such as The Breaker's Resort in Denver, CO. AMC also oversees rental units in Nevada, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Idaho, California, and Washington.
